Client Success Stories – Modernization with Process Automation
Ken Bass, QA Technologies
This presentation will cover success stories of major system enhancements and maintenance activities that were delivered with process automation. These system enhancements range from dynamically adding new products, adding and changing data fields on the user interface, adding new business process requirements and implementing hundreds of new business rules each year. These activities are achieved with QAT Flow (a CA Gen Solution), which provides business process automation that can be controlled by the business analysts who best understand the business requirements and priorities. These analysts also have complete control of the web 2.0 user interface. For example, they can dynamically add steps to the process and make changes to the fields, edits, validations and page configurations, all of which would otherwise require traditional development. This approach puts the business in control of the process and IT in control of the database and integration services. The audience will learn how they can apply this same approach to their specific business needs and do more with less.

Application Modernization – Going Beyond Transformation
Rollie Stephens, QA Technologies
Does simply transforming your CA Gen applications to run on modern platforms mean that you’ve modernized? At QAT, we believe that modernizing an application is more than re-structuring the code to run on a new platform. It means adding real value for the customer by providing them with new application features and flexibility on the new platform. We will introduce QAT Genesis in this presentation, which is a unique modernization approach that not only re-platforms the application (web or client/server), but adds new features and flexibility while reusing the business rules in the CA Gen application and/or other existing services. This approach empowers the business to implement business changes faster and in more flexible ways than ever before. With QAT Genesis, modernized applications will leverage several automated solutions that provide faster development, more customer control and reduced costs. This solution aligns and enables business and IT to work better as a team and develop sophisticated software with advanced user interfaces and flexible features.

Business Process Automation Meets Modernization with QAT Flow
Rollie Stephens, QA Technologies (QAT)
This lab will give participants a hands-on look at how process automation with QAT Flow can be used to rapidly modernize legacy CA Gen applications into modern web applications that offer new and exciting features to the organization. Participants will define a process in QAT Flow and produce modern web 2.0 user interfaces and see how QAT Flow implements server side business rules from the CA Gen action blocks and/or web services. The speed and flexibility this CA Gen software provides to both business and IT is a key component of QAT Genesis, which is our new modernization approach being introduced at this conference.
